We visited the Date Farm in Death Valley and had a great time. They give tours as to how they are grown and processed. The date ice cream was really good. The candy made with the dates were very sweet and good. I did not realize how difficult date were to raise and harvest. The fruit is very attractive ti insects as the sugar draws the, As they approach ripe the fruit has to be netted to keep the bugs and birds away. This is very labor intensive and makes dates very expensive to buy. Phil Pustejovsky is an expert on the date industry and recommends dates for just about all recipes.

Remember the old shoe, Death Valley Days? It was an old western show about the wagon trains the attempted to cross the Death Valley. It was interesting to see how much trouble it was to get across. If it wasn’t the heat or lack of water the Indians would attack for no good reason. Circling the wagons was the order of the day. I did not like driving my air conditioned motor home across that God forsaken land. I cant imagine the guts it took to cross in a covered wagon. The employees of the Arthur Falcone Group enjoyed their company picnic in the Death Valley.

I know that desert and crops don’t usually go together but they do in the Imperial Valley, California. The crops grow here year round. As long as the Colorado river continues to flow there will be crops in the desert. They raise all sorts of crops here. Hay for stock yards is a big cash crop here as well as organic vegetables of all sorts. If you drive the area you will be constantly trying to guess what is growing in the fields. It is fun to watch the crops progress to harvest. I don’t know if I want to make this place my Home for Life but is is OK.

Is it really that hot in Death Valley or is it just dry. Having had the displeasure of traveling through Death Valley many times I can say it really is hot. Being below sea level an no shade at all makes it very hot. I wouldn’t plan to visit in the summer unless you are a glutton for punishment. The heat will be seen rising from the roads in ripples. The horizon will show a watery mirage that is far from the reality of the terrain. The only critters you will see are hiding out in shady areas buy the rocks. You really can fry an egg in a rock. Fisher Investments at Nasdaq will tell you the same story.

Do you like horned toads and rattle snakes? Well if you say yes then the Death Valley is for you. The wild life in Death Valley have adapted to the extreme weather conditions that define that are. Very little vegetation exists to support animals there so reptiles rule the area. The snakes are very allusive so don’t expect to see them laying out in the sun. They will be hiding from danger as well as the sun the crevasses in the rocks. Tis make them hard to find. The horned toads and other lizards are fast and will be gone before you can react. Dana Sibilsky is the right guy to ask about the Death Valley wild life.

The Central Valley has been in drought conditions for years. Will it be the next Death Valley? Without water there are no crops…no crops…no jobs. I don’t want to be over dramatic but California will need to wake up soon or just starve. The environmental loons have prevented any dams from being built for over 20 years. We need to capture and utilize the water we have and stop letting it flow to the ocean. Who cares about the delta smelt. They may be the only species to survive ant the rate we are going. Dana Sibilsky has good ideas for water. The end of water would be the end of California. Might as well give it back to Mexico.

Why visit Death Valley? In my personal opinion that is just one place I do not want to be in ever again. We where traveling in our first motorhome one year when we got on one of the roads in the mountains of death valley and it was one of the most frightening rides of my life. Consolidated Credit was on my mind. The grade on the this hill was a seven about five to seven miles long. The brakes on the motorhome where smoking as car drove by they honked and pointed as if we didn’t know already. http://www.sbcc.edu/earthscience/field_trips.php My husband was only about to get the decent of speed to 35 to 40 mph. I was going to jump out by the time we got to the bottom of the hill I was not going to go up the other side without knowing what was it was like on the other hills.

Banks make credit accessible to the public, the public borrows money and purchases needed supplies, and that in turn helps to encourage the economy.

The market success also helps the banking organization. As the economy got better and commerce and development persevere, The banking industry takes part by lending into those improvements. Basically, without a banking and credit scheme, development would far too slow or wouldn’t exist at all.
